What’s My Body Telling Me

What’s your body trying to tell you? In today’s Master Flow episode, I focus on what our bodies might be trying to communicate to us, particularly during this busy season of year-end hustle. While it’s tempting to power through the busy season, real growth and success come when we learn to listen and respond to what our bodies truly need.
In this episode, I’ll cover…
✨How embracing rest and ‘slowness’ can reinvigorate your energy and clarity.
✨ The lessons nature teaches us — like winter’s invitation to shed, recharge, and prepare for new growth.
✨A powerful client story that shows the connection between prioritizing health and achieving business success.
This isn’t about doing less for the sake of it—it’s about doing less to recharge, refocus, and reignite your ambitions with intention. Listen in to discover how slowing down can actually move you closer to your goals while cultivating a deeper sense of fulfillment and empowerment.
Embracing Slowness
Welcome to another episode of In Between Homes. Today, I’m reflecting on a question we often overlook: What is my body trying to tell me?
In the hustle and busyness of life, it’s so easy to ignore the signals our bodies send. Right now, I’m still recovering from a cold. And it’s got me thinking: What is this cold telling me? Do I need to slow down? Cancel my plans? Stay home, sip tea, and let myself watch Christmas movies?
This is about embracing the power of slowness—welcoming the yin energy, the quieter, restorative side of life. Slowing down isn’t a weakness; it’s essential. It’s how we recharge, reinvigorate, and restore ourselves to move forward with energy and clarity.
For me, the signs were clear. After weeks of moving from Bali to Europe, jumping between countries, and running on full speed, my body finally said: Stop. Be still. Rest.
As the year winds down, many of us are already racing ahead—planning goals, envisioning what’s next, and filling up our to-do lists.
But have we paused to reflect on what this year has already taught us? Have we truly absorbed the lessons and allowed ourselves to rest before the next chapter begins?
Winter offers us a beautiful metaphor. Trees shed their leaves and appear dormant, but beneath the surface, they are resting, conserving energy, and preparing for spring. It’s nature’s reminder that rest is productive.
So here’s this winter’s invitation:
✨ Allow yourself to do less—or even nothing.
✨ Recenter and reconnect with your body.
✨ Honor your health, your temple, as your top priority.
Without vitality, we can’t show up fully for others, achieve our goals, or create from a place of abundance and clarity. Stress and overwhelm contract your energy and cloud your decisions. But when you listen to your body, nurture it, and align with its needs, you open the door to inspired action and true well-being.
So today, before you tackle next year’s plans or check off your holiday to-dos, ask yourself: What does my body need most right now?
A Client's Journey
Let me share the story of a client who came to me over two years ago. She was incredibly successful in her business, generating significant revenue and doing what she loved. Yet, despite her success, she reached out with an urgent plea: "We need to look at my finances. I can't keep going like this. I'm overwhelmed, I'm burning out, and my body is shutting down. I need to do something differently."
I was proud of her for recognizing the need for change. At that point, she had been enduring six months of being overwhelmed and burnt out, driven by her relentless work pace. But she made a pivotal decision—she committed to prioritizing her health and well-being. She realized that to regain balance, she had to understand her financial situation and reimagine how she managed her business.
She asked herself important questions: What is my business truly making in profit? What actions can I take to create more free time? How can I make space for self-care—like going to the gym, Pilates, or yoga—without constantly being buried in work?
That’s when she came to me. Together, we dove into her finances. I helped her get organized, implementing my signature spreadsheet system to bring clarity to her numbers. We analyzed her income, expenses, and profit margins. Then we looked at how she spent her time. Using visual charts, we mapped out her workload over the past year.
The results were eye-opening. She could clearly see the patterns that led to her burnout—too many clients at once, taking on the workload of two people. By viewing the data, she realized she didn’t have to sacrifice doing what she loved. Instead, she could make strategic adjustments to find balance and harmony.
We worked together to refine her services, adjust her pricing, and redesign her business operations. Within six months, the transformation was remarkable. She was sleeping soundly, starting her days with Pilates and personal training, and feeling genuinely happy.
But what if she didn't do that?
The Importance of Finances
What if she hadn’t taken the time to understand and reconnect with her finances?
The truth is, she was on the verge of closing her business when she reached out to me. Her overwhelm and burnout were at their peak. But by becoming “friends” with her finances, she realized that small, strategic adjustments could transform not just her business, but her entire life and well-being.
This is the power of financial clarity. When you approach your finances with curiosity and openness, you see the situation for what it is—just facts. From there, you can identify areas for improvement, make adjustments, and keep building a sustainable, profitable business. It’s a process that allows you to continue serving clients, generating revenue, and thriving in your work while also prioritizing your health and happiness.
Now, pause and reflect: What is your body telling you right now?
Do you wake up feeling exhausted? Do you carry constant tension? Are you struggling to sleep? These signals matter. The first step is awareness—acknowledging what your body is trying to communicate.
For me, it meant slowing down and taking two days at home to rest so I could show up fully present today. I’m grateful I listened.
Once you recognize these signals, ask yourself:
What small shifts can I make to feel better?
What am I avoiding that needs my attention?
If it’s your finances, consider this: becoming a little more friendly with them might be the key to unlocking balance and clarity—not just in your business, but in your life.
