Why Knowing Your Numbers Can Slow Down Aging
Apple Podcasts | Spotify | YouTube
What if I told you that the secret to slowing down aging isn’t in skincare or supplements, but in something you might be avoiding—your finances?
I know it might sound surprising, but hear me out. In today’s Financial Friday episode, we’re diving into how understanding your numbers and reducing financial stress can do more than just improve your business—it can help you look and feel younger.
I’ll share how I transformed my own financial situation and how you can do the same. Imagine no longer feeling anxious every time you check your bank account and instead living with greater peace and purpose.
Ready to take that step? I’ll walk you through five key points that have helped me feel younger, healthier, and more vibrant. Let’s get started!
The Impact of Financial Stress on Your Health
Let’s start with the first key point: the impact of financial stress on your health and energy.
When I was dealing with financial anxiety and stress, everything felt off. My sleep was terrible, my physical health suffered, and I had no desire to exercise. I felt drained, lacked vitality, and even noticed it in my appearance—I looked tired and worn out. I didn’t even like the reflection I saw in the mirror.
While I’m not a doctor, it’s well-known that stress hormones, like cortisol, play a significant role in how we age. Chronic stress can accelerate aging, affecting not just how we feel but how we look. If you’re carrying the weight of financial worries, it’s crucial to address it.
By gaining financial clarity, you can take steps to reduce stress, sleep better, and reconnect with the joy of life. Your health and vitality will improve as you start to feel more empowered and in control of your finances.
Taking that first step isn’t just about money—it’s about reclaiming your energy and radiance.
Empowering Yourself by Knowing Your Numbers
The second key point I want to share is about finding empowerment through knowing your numbers.
Many business owners I work with admit they’ve been managing their business based solely on cash flow—looking at how much money is in their bank account. While that might seem convenient, it’s not a sustainable or accurate way to run a business. And it’s certainly not good for your health or aging process.
Here’s why: your bank account balance doesn’t tell the full story.
You need to know your profitability, understand your expenses (both business and personal), and have a clear picture of your actual financial health. This clarity not only helps you make better decisions but also reduces the anxiety that comes with uncertainty.
I help business owners gain this financial clarity so they can make confident decisions without second-guessing themselves. And let me be clear: understanding your numbers isn’t just for large corporations or people managing teams. It’s for anyone who wants more control over their life.
Think about it—there are so many things in life we can’t control. We can’t control the weather or how others react or feel. But one thing we can control is our numbers. By understanding your finances, you gain a sense of power and stability that spills over into every aspect of your life.
When you take charge of your numbers, you’re not just managing your finances—you’re taking control of your life.
Financial Systems: The Key to Work-Life Balance
The third point I want to share is about how having a solid financial system for both your personal and business finances can help you achieve work-life balance.
Now, I know many people say work-life balance doesn’t exist because it’s never truly 50/50. And while that may be true, I firmly believe that freedom—the kind we all seek—comes from having structure. A good financial system provides that structure, enabling you to live with more freedom and less overwhelm.
When you have a system in place, you can plan effectively. You can analyze where your profits have come from so far and strategize how to grow them without burning yourself out.
It’s about placing the right effort and focus in the right areas, so you can work smarter, not harder.
For me, this system has been life-changing. It’s allowed me to define what work-life balance means for me—what I call my "half-working, half-retirement" lifestyle. I want to enjoy life while I’m young and full of vitality. That means traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, and being present in the moment.
I still love my work and pour my heart into it, but I’ve learned that working long hours isn’t the life I want anymore. Instead, I’ve created a structure that lets me prioritize what matters most: my relationships, my health, and my passions. I have the flexibility to be in the places I want, with the people I love, when I choose—not because I have to.
This kind of freedom and balance starts with a strong financial system. It empowers you to grow—not just your business, but also personally—so you can live the life you’ve always envisioned for yourself.

Holistic Approaches to Health and Aging
Beyond finances, one of the key ways I’ve learned to slow down aging is by taking care of my overall health. If you’ve followed my story, you’ll know I’ve experienced burnout—both in corporate life and in my own business. That’s why prioritizing my health is now non-negotiable.
One of my biggest tips is to prioritize your sleep.
Sleep is the foundation of good health and vitality. Personally, I need eight hours, and I haven’t used an alarm clock in years—except for catching flights! I wake up naturally because I ensure I’m well-rested and listen to my body’s needs.
Another practice that has transformed my health is detoxifying my body. I’ve been using enzyme protocols to cleanse my organs, which has helped me feel lighter, cleaner, and more vibrant. This simple practice supports my body from the inside out, allowing me to truly shine.
When you combine financial clarity with self-care—like proper sleep, detoxing, and self-love—you can slow down the aging process. By taking care of your finances, you free up mental energy, reduce stress, and create the space to focus on your body and mind.
It starts with acknowledging where you’re at.
If financial anxiety is weighing you down, face it head-on. Put a system in place to regain control, know your numbers, and feel empowered. Once that weight is lifted, you’ll feel the benefits across every part of your life.
This holistic approach—combining financial systems with health and self-care—is how I’ve been able to reduce stress, feel younger, and truly thrive.
If this resonates with you and you’re ready to transform your relationship with money, I invite you to join the BFF Program. Be Friends with Finances and learn a skill that should’ve been taught in school—a simple, effective financial system that puts you in control.
